Pumpernickel is a black bread, made with rye flour, it's dense in texture and is popular in European countries. This is often made with a sour dough started. To add more flavor, we also use unsweetened cocoa powder, ground caraway seeds and molasses.
This bread is great for savory sandwiches such as Rubins, or sweets like butter and jelly.
